Lethargic and short concentration span
I am a mother of an 8 month old boy. I don't know if my problem has wnything to do with that. I have problems with concentrating on anything for long periods of time. I am ALWAYS tired. I can sleep all day if you give me a chance (and wake up even more tired than I was when I went to sleep). I'm not in the mood to do things, I will let other people do chores because I can't seem to gather enough energy to get up, nevermind still do the task. I have had problems with my back - continuously sore. I don't know if this is a physical or psycological problem. I had this same problem a number of years ago after leaving school and my doctor at the time mentioned yuppie flu as a possible explanation, although we didn't go any further with treatment because he didn't believe in yuppie flu. I should probably also mention that I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgekins Lymphoma in 1996, had 6 months Chemo - therapy and have been in remission ever since. Could my problem have anything to do with that? I don't feel comfortable bringing this to my GP's attention because I'm starting to feel like a real HYPOCONDRIAC!
PLEASE HELP!
PLEASE HELP!
Rose, I doubt that it is all in the mind. Given that you have an 8 moth old boy, it might just be due to getting too little sleep. It might of course also be due to something more serious like anaemia, high and low blood pressure, heart problems, thyroid problems, high and low blood sugar, liver problems, kidney problems, depression, nutritional deficiencies, etc. The best will be to see your doctor and have him make sure that there is nothing serious underlying the matter. Good luck.
