Liver protection
Dear Doc
I have had a bowel re-section op in Nov 2004, and have lost 37 kgs to date. Need to lose about 8 more to bring me to the correct weight for my height. I dont know if you know all the facts about this op, but one thing I need to do and that is keep my liver functioning well. I do take Essentiale pills 3 x per day as prescribed by the surgeon and I know to have very little alcohol and reduce fatty foods, but is there anything else I can do to ensure my liver is being cared for.. Please could you reply
thank you

Dear Cl
Don't take a lot of pain tablets, or any other chemical substances, eat low fat foods and moderate amounts of protein. Avoid coffee and alcohol if possible.
