Malaria pills while pregnant or for a 2 year-old
Hi Doc,
We are planning on going to friends near Hoedspruit during the end of July. My wife will be 6 months pregnant at that time and our baby 2 years old. We were worried about malaria and both of them not being able to take the pills but have been told that at that time of year, and in that area, the malaria risk is so low that it is not necessary to take pills or worry - what do you think?

Pete, the safest would be not to go at all. If you do have to go, July is probably the best time of the year. Good luck.
