Hi doc,

I've been experiencing splitted nails and tiredness eversince Oktober last year. Yesterday I saw that my fiance's nails also started splitting. His toenails, mainly. Do you think that it can be malnutrition? We moved in together last year at the end of July. So we aren't really eating our parents healthy food anymore. We hardly ever eat wors, red meat, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, juice, cucumbers, avo's etc. We do take a daily vitamin. I don't know whether you heard of Phakamisa yet? We also take Dolomite and he takes Vit. B co. At first I thought that it might be from switching contraceptives (you still remember that I told you that story?), but after I saw my fiance's toenails splitting and breaking into the life, I'm starting to wonder. Do you think it's possible? Do you perhaps have any advice on what we can eat?

I appreciate your help!

Ciska, it’s difficult to say what the problem is without examining you first, but it might be due to a calcium or iron deficiency, or a fungal infection. The best would be to let your doctor have a look at it for you. Good luck.
