M.E.
I have been diagnosed with ME; and have been battling to fall pregnant for 3 years. I have been told that one of the methods for treating ME would be to take courses of the antibiotic Tetrocycline to kill any bacteria that may be the cause. What I would like to know is... how long exactly does an antibiotic take to get out of ones system to make it safe for trying for a baby? ie is it only risky to fall pregnant while actually on the antibiotic or does one wait a few months for the medication to filter out of one's system?
Concerned, I know nothing about bacteria causing ME – as far as I know it is caused by a virus and antibiotics won’t help.
Anyway, you should wait three months before trying to conceive after being on tetracycline for a long time. Good luck.
