Mercilon - Contraceptive
Dear Doc

I was on the 2 month injection and went off on Melodene which I still found harsh for me bad PMS and all, went back on the injection but because of being on it for years I feel a bit like a robot without emotions (think it is cause my body dont get enough estogene and go thought it cycles) I just feel flat line - and that leads to depression.

Is Mercilon a low dose pill which I can try out? Is it still safe and effective if taken correctly?

Dear Kasandra
This is not something I would like to recommend in a forum - before you use a contraceptive, a doctor needs to take a thorough history of your medical problems, do certain basic tests, discuss your family planning with you , look at your age and medical risk profile and only then decide which tablet will be most suitable for you. Rather make an appointment with a gyne.
