Mercury-poisoned?
Hi there
My mom has just been told that she needs to have the 17 mercury-fillings in her teeth replaced with porcelain fillings. This will roughly set her R30K back. She doesn't have that kind of money, she doesn't even have a medical aid. She is now considering having all her teeth removed instead.
What are the symptoms of mecury poisoning? She is nou in serious doubt about the doctor's diagnosis on her very resistant and very bad eczema.
Could her filling really be poisoning her body so badly? More than one doctor told her that she is somehow being poisoned from within, but they couldn't lay a finger on the true source. One of the doctors' tests indicated that it is her fillings.

Hi Tania
Whether Mercury fillings can really poison you is still controversial - some people feel very stong about this and other say that the kind of filling is inert and won't do anything. Having all her teeth removed will cause loss of the bone of the jaw and may make her look much older than her years - I would not recommend this.
Read this article - I really don't think replacing the fillings are essential!!
