motor bike accident
i was involved in a motor bike accident where i slambed into the side of an oncoming car after it ran a stop street, i rememeber realising that i wasnt able to stop in time i kinda remember the impact, hittting the bonnet of his car and then being on the ground...shortly after that my vision came and went between bouts of seeing like black dots to everything getting hazy and getting very bright extremly bright,i was a bit dazed and confused, im extremly stiff today, a day later, especially my upper arms and my neck, the strap of my helmet has bruised my throat and i have had the same pain inside that you get when you have a normal sore throat, i was at the ER yesturday after it happened because i thought my leg might be broken but its ok just really sore and bruised,i have notice a bit of head pain but nothing to hectic and my jaw is pretty sore, sitting here at the moment i had some minor pain in my ear,but also nothing hectic,is this normal concission and will i be ok or how do i go about having it checked out? thanks

Dear annon
If you had such a hard knock on your head you may have concussion - whoozy feeling, headache and nausea. But one must also be careful as one can get a subdural bleed developing over the next week or so - due to the veins tearing with impact. It causes a blood clot to form slowly in your skull and start pressurizing your brain. If you have any signs of loss of vision, loss of sensation or loss of muscle function anywhere, severe headache, stiff neck and vomiting you must please go back to the ER - they may need to do a brain scan then.
