noise in right ear
i have this persistant humming in my ear which get unbearible when i lie down to sleep at night ive had it befor then it clears up and then comes back i cant consintrate for long periods can you tell me what it could be thanks

Shaus, it might be due to tinnitus, but it’s usually described as ringing not humming. Tinnitus may occur as a symptom of nearly all ear disorders. The treatment is thus firstly aimed at treating the underling cause, secondly at treating any associated hearing loss and then at masking the tinnitus by means of background noise that is more pleasant than the tinnitus itself (radio etc). The best person to help you with all this would an ENT surgeon or maybe a neurologist. Good luck.
