My husband has kept Pigeons for racing for many many years. Have heard that Ornithosis can become a problem in humans working with pidgeons for long periods. What information do you have as to symptoms please ?

Jilly, ornithosis (parrot fever; psittacosis) is a form of pneumonia and may present like a pneumonia that doesn’t respond to conventional treatment. If you mail me at, I will cut & paste you something on it. Read it and let me know if you have more questions. Good luck.
