overactive thyroid
I'm a 42 yr old female.Been diagnosed with overactive thyroid this week.Dr put me on tablets to "slow down" thyroid.I've always been skinny, will these tablets let me gain weight?Tomorrow i'm having a thyroid scintigraphy, does this have anything to do with cancer?Thx.
Dear Annie
No it does not neccesarily have anything to do with cancer , the scintigraphy just shows up any overactive nodules or cysts. You will probably pick up a little bit of weight.
