Pain on right side
My mom has a constant pain on the right side of her stomach. She has been for a CT scan & colonoscopy and they were clear. Her GP has mentioned that it could be appendix, but he cannot be sure. Is there a way of diagnosing an appendix? What can the pain be caused by? Many Thanks.

Hi Jasmine
The pain can be caused by gall stones, peptic ulcer, kidney problems, colon problems, appendix, liver problems , refferred pain from a nerve in the back or a slipped disc. Appendix problems are usually picked up with a sonar and blood tests. The doctor will probably start at a point and start excluding possible problems or reasons for the pain.
