Hi there

I have a small lump on the side of my neck. It is about half a cm to 1 cm in diameter. It feels as though I can put my fingers around and squash it but I wouldn't do that! Someone has told me that it is a polyp. What is that? Should I see my dr about it? What would the doc do?

Polly, it sounds like it might be a sebaceous gland or a small lipoma, but I can’t say for sure without examining you first. The best would be to see your doctor and have him make sure that it’s not serious. If it’s not serious, you don’t have to have it removed if you don’t want to. Good luck.
