RE: Blackouts
Can you please explain to me what is the cause of blackouts and how serious it is
Hi MG
Blackouts happen because the brain does not get enough blood/oxygen - so causes could be low blood pressure, anemia, hearth rythm irregularities, structural heart defects like valve narrowing or clots in the big arteries feeding the brain. The seriousness would depend on the cause, so it should always be thoroughly examined by a doctor and some special tests like heartsonars, 24 hour blood pressure monitoring and blood tests may be needed.
