Re Kidney problems
My ultrasound was normal and my urine tests have had blood in them for almost a year... the doctor said it was Plus one or one plus.. i cant remember which... the pain in my back seems to get worse when there is more blood present.
the did a number of blood tests on me including a kidney function test which was normal and an insulin test which showed alot of insulin in my blood.. the doctor says im insulin resitant.
my urologist did a urine test on monday but i had already started to take the anti biotics my doctor gave me for the infection so by then there was no sign of infection.. just the blood.. so he couldnt culture anything... he did a blood test on me to see y ive started to shake and im supposed to get the results today.
Ive been poked and proded at since my first major kidney infection when i was still in high school.. at one point they even sent me to a rhuematic specialist (due to the swelling which i was hospitalised for but signed my self out of a week later as all they did for me was cover me in ice packs and give me coretsone they eventually labeled it Vasculitis.. then changed there mind and said it was Nephritis)
they seem to be passing me around and i really just want to know what the problem is so that it can be fixed.. im only 20 but i feel like im 90!

Sara, it sounds like it might be due to some sort of auto-immune disorder – in other words your body attacks your kidneys for some reason or the other. This might be very dangerous as it may cause permanent kidney damaged if it isn’t controlled. You might need a kidney biopsy to prove the diagnosis, but before you have that done you should get a second opinion from a different urologist. Good luck.
