SE Texas Scorpion sting
Is it possible to break out in rash 24hrs AFTER a scorpion sting?
Hallo Robin
Some people can get a delayed allergy reaction after a sting. Try taking an antihistamine, but if there is no improvement a cortisone injection/tablets may be needed. Scorpion stings are normally not dangerous, but can cause secondary infection in a limb with blood poisoning so watch out for red, swollen and hot area, or a sign of spreading infection up a limb. If this happens the patient may need tetanus toxoid vaccination and antibiotics.
