SORE HEELS
BY THE END OF THE DAY MY HEELS ACHE TERRIBLY - NEED TO PUT MY FEET UP, WITH IMMEDIATE RELIEF? 1ST STEPS IN THE MORNING IARE PAINFULL. IT APPEARS TO BE WORSE ON WEEKENDS - 45YR MALE
SS, the differential diagnosis is often based on the location of pain, but here are some of the options:
1. Calcaneal spur syndrome
2. Epiphysitis of the calcaneus (Sever's disease)
3. Posterior achilles tendon bursitis (Haglund's deformity)
4. Fracture of the posterolateral talar tubercle
5. Anterior achilles tendon bursitis (Albert's disease)
6. Posterior tibial nerve neuralgia
As you can see, you will have to give me more information to help me make a diagnosis. You can also mail ma at CyberDoc@mweb.co.za so that I can send you some more information on the above. In the meantime you can try taking an anti-inflammatory like Brexacam® for a week or so and see if it clears up. If it doesn’t, the best would be to see your doctor. Good luck.
