Teenage Periods
My daughter, who is 12 years old, but quite a big girl has started her periods and is very heavy. I would like to know can a girl of her age use tampons and if so, is there a specific type for teenagers.

Dear Anon Mother
Yes they can use tampons but don't force it if it does not slip in easily - start with the smallest one from lilets and let her practice with it, wearing a pad too - as she gets more comfortable with it you could maybe use a tampon that will absorb the heavier flow. Use Synflex or something similar to reduce the flow if it is very heavy ( ask your doc for a prescription)
