Tender Occipital Bone
Hi Doc -The bone on the RHS of my head (which kind of protrudes from the occipital region) is extremely tender, feels as if I have had something bashed into my head (which I haven't). What could cause this?

Dear Mallory,
I could be caused by muscle tension on the bone if you are sure that you did not hurt it by bumping it. Other causes could be soft tissue infection in the area or an infected or inflammated occipital gland. Let a GP look at it for you.
