treatment for SELECTIVE IGA DEFICIENCY
MY 30 MONTH OLD BABY GIRL HAS THIS IGA AND LANDED UP IN HOSP. 2X WITH PHEUMONIA IN 8MONTHS. GETS TREATED WITH ANTI BIOTICS FOR PHEUMONIA ONLY. ANYTHING OR ANY ONE WITH HELP AND OR SUGGESTIONS PLSE. DO I TRY A PULMONOLOGIST?

Nic, the best would be to see a paediatrician rather than a pulmonologist. Treatment is unnecessary in most cases. A Medic-Alert bracelet is recommended to prevent inadvertent plasma or immunoglobulin administration with sensitization or reaction. Continuous antibiotics are needed for those with persistent respiratory infections. A few IgA-deficient patients remit spontaneously. Let me know as a new question if you have more questions.
