Twitch in eye
Hallo Dr

I have a problem with my right eye. It twitches for days at a time, then it is stops again for a while. At first it was the lower eyelid and now the top eyelid. It is really embarrasing and irritating. Somebody said it is caused by a magnesium deficiency and another said they heard that it is due to eye stress. I have a problem with my neck (artery gets pinched due to "vertibral artery syndrome"). I am really starting to worry and do not know whether to just ignore this or to see a doctor. I am scared that it is an indication of epilepsy. Your opinion will be highly appreciated. Enjoy the weekend and thank you for all your hard work.

Irritated, it is most often due to electrolyte imbalance, but it might of course be due to a neurological problem especially since you have a neck problem. Next time it happens, try putting a pinch of salt under your tongue and if it doesn’t clear it up, the best would be to see your doctor. Good luck.
