A chuckle for you, CS
I had such a good laugh now when we got our TV licence renewal notification. With it, came a pamphlet about allowances etc.

If you are blind, you get a 50% discount! HUH????
If you are 74 years old, you get a 50% discount as well. What? Don't they expect you to live for longer than another 6 months then?
If you are 75 or over it is free! Yippee! You aren't supposed to be alive anymore!

WOuldn't you love to have sat in on the solemn committee meeting at which they made such awesome decisions ? Imagine the arguments about the discount for the blind ( "Well, maybe they can't SEE the TV, but they can listen to it --- so charge them for the half they can enjoy !"). And what of the deaf ? Shouldn't they get the same discount, as they can watch, but not listen ? Did the deaf ever get any discount on radio licenses, when those existed ?
Hmm, discounts on the Driver's License if you get car sick ? A cheaper dog license if it isn't a very nice dog ? Lower council taxes / rates if your house is really ugly ?
