An abortion that hurts the foetus
Wednesday, April 07, 2004
A pain expert claims that a form of late-term abortion would cause a 20-week-old foetus to suffer "severe and excruciating" pain.
Dr Kanwaljeet Anand, a paediatrician at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences, testified as a government witness Tuesday in Nebraska during a court challenge against the US Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act.

For many women surgical abortions are more emmotionally difficult than medical abortions, particularly late term surgical abortions (at 15-19 weeks). While some people feel normal, even relieved after the procedure, others experience intense emmotional turmoil.

This is not to say that people who feel certain do not later have regrets, only that the more thought you have given the issue and the more time you have had to deal with and reconcile any regrets, the less likely it is that you will feel shocked and confused about what has been done. Abortion can not be undone and too many people who enter in to an abortion under pressure from others or without really being sure they want to have one end up feeling intensely distressed. This must be your decision and you must be comfortable with it, you are the one who has to live with it.

If you are comfortable with the decision you will most likely feel relieved that the ordeal is over and that the unwanted pregnancy is no longer a concern. You may feel some regret, sadness, loss, anger, confusion or depression.

Sorry, bv,
But if you continue to post this line of anti-abortion propaganda, I will have to ask the editors to delete your postings. And the same applies to so what and others of that ilk ( though I suspect we have only one, maybe two people, posting under different nicks, to give the impression of greater numbers ). As you show no compassion ot understanding of others, unlike Been There, your highly judgemental postings are unhelpful. There is no scientific information or fact in this posting, only a quotation, out of context, from an "expert" hired by lawyers to push one particular point of view, and commenting on an extremely rare form of late abortion which ought never to be een thought of except in extreme situations.
