anorexia or obsession?
hi there.i'm confused because everyone is worried about my weight recently.i am 1,68m and weigh 46kg which according to my bmi i am underweight.is my bmi in the anorexic category(my bmi is 16,3)????i do restrict what i eat and i cant eat things that ppl would concider okay to eat,i have my own "safe" foods i eat.how do i know whether i need a pshycologist or not?PLEASE HELP TO ANSWER THIS!im not sure if i am anorexic,or just obsessed with my weight.
Sounds like this could well be an eating disorder. The best way to check would be to see a psychiatrist, preferably one with a special interest in Eating Disorders, or a unit like that at Tara, for a proper check-up and specific advice based on what they find. All anorexics are obsessed about their weight / size / shape, and few people other than anorexics / people with eating disorders, obsess about such things.
