I wonder if there's a temporary problem with the website, as we seem suddenly, today, to be getting so many multiple postings of individual questions ?
Agoraphobia is a form of phobia in which one feels excessive fearfulness when away from wherever one feels most safe, usually one's home, and a fearfulness in large open spaces. The word was formed by the greek word Agora, which was a marketplace or market square, and thus a large open space.
Liza, Claustrophobia ( not a fear of Santa Claus, though a lot of kids get scared of the big man in read with a white beard !) is the fear of closed spaces you describe --- a fearfulness of enclosed spaces, a fear of not being able to get out --- like someone who finds at a theatre for a concert, they can't sit on the aisle but are in the middle of a row. It's possible to get out, but not without saying "Excuse me!" to a dozen people --- and they feel fearful.
