Being Sick
My flu symptoms started on Saturday, and by Sunday it was so bad with a head that seems it was so big, I could not hold it up - itchy nose, cough and feeling hot and cold.
On Monday I could not even lift my head. Informed the office that I think I have flu - I came in today, still feeling like a dog, and all they care about is the doctors letter!
What if I did not have money to go to the doctor? will they not have taken my word that I was sick -
Its not that I take sick leave every second day, and my work is always up to date - is this normal for employers to act this way to loyal workers?

I gather they may be entitled to insist on a certificate, though they don't have to when a person has obviousl had flu and has been off only a couple of days. Some more sensible companies have a rule demanding a certificate after 3 workdays off, which is more reasonable, and wastes less of your time, their time, and the doctor's time.
