Bipolar - DBT
I've heard that Dialectical Behaviour Therapy can be beneficial in helping with bipolar (together with medication of course). What is the difference between CBT and DBT and which would be better for someone with bipolar. Where would I be able to find someone in South Africa that does it?
Thank you
Thank you
CBT has a very large body of research proving it to be successful in managing Depression and Bipolar disorder, especially when combined with the right medication. DBT has FAR, far less research supporting it's benefits, but I have sen some. It seems to me to be similar to CBT in some ways, and I have seen nothing to convince me that any aspect in which it is different from CBT is any advantage. I haven't heard of anyone in SA practising DBT
