I like your kitten answer!

Ok so this might be a stupid question, but what the heck I am going to take a risk and ask it anyway!

Sat last week my brother' s lovely parrot bit me. Ok so I was a bit stupid, I put my finger in his cage to stroke him on the head and he gave me a fierce look and promptly chomped me on my right index finger! It bled quite a lot and I put Savlon and Germolene on it last weekend only. I did nothing except cover it with a plaster until Sun this week when I asked a Clicks pharmacist if she agreed that it looked as though it was started to be getting infected. She said yes she agreed and gave me Bactroban ointment to use - which I have been using 2x a day and if it was getting worse after 3 days I MUST speak to my gp for antibiotics. Up till now I havent mentioned it to my gp because I was going to ask him about it on Sat. Should I have told him about it this am? Its been dam sore all the time - it admittedly does look slightly better today than Sun - not so red.

Thanks for help and happy kitty training! Rugby &  beer?! Hee Hee!

Obviously a parrot with no good taste at all. Anyhow, if its still sore and inflamed for a week, it may be that you need an antibiotic by mouth rather than only an antiseptic ointment, so best to check with your GP about it. I gather that human bites are by far the dirtiest and nastiest as regards infections, but then parrots don't brish their beaks or floss, do they ?
I know for certain that the kitty is female, but with this thing about sitting on the couch eating chips ( and she'd sip my beer if Ihad one, watching rugby --- and did I mention farting ? There's something, somehow male about her ?
