Boarding a flight
i was never on a flight before. I need info on the procedures when you get to the airport i.e where do you go? what do you do with your luggage and ticket? when you get into the plane, do you choose your own seat or do they show you where to sit? do you pay for the refreshments in the plane? when you land how do you get off and how do you get your luggage? please advise, i am flying tomorrow morning. thank you all

Excellent response from Sub-Angel,
Boarding time is earlier for long-distance flights. And an hour earlier is good practise, as check-in may be slow. Depending on the airline, if you check-in early, you may have some choice of where you sit --- so you might want to sit at a window, for instance, to get a better view.
While waiting to board, there will also be notice-boards / TV monitors, listing flights ; so check the flight number on your ticket / boarding pass, and look for the time it says it will board, and at what "gate". And when it says "NOW BOARDING " --- go ahead and board !
