Compulsive Lying
Hello there, I would like to know what to do, I have a brother who basically permanently lies, who tries to be funny but actually ruin my life and even though sometimes he gets drunk I can understand if he cannot remember anything the next day, but when he does or creates situations that he surely can remember, just wake up the next morning say hello and goes on as if nothing happened. I don't want to throw him onto the street but I cannot live with someone like him anymore. He drives me nuts. I can even show him the facts on paper he'll just say wasn't him as if he believes himself and I'm positive he does. Is he a compulsive liar and what do you do with a person like that?
There's nothing much, sadly, that one can do with a compulsive liar. They rarely want to change, and can't change unless they want to. But you don't have to live with him --- you could give him notice that you expect him to move out and make other arrangements to care for himself, later. So I agree with SS
