Depression due to work
I have a very good job in a big company, the problem is that my job is extremely monotonous and there is nothing I can do about it. At the beginning of the year I approached my boss and explained to him that my job was no longer challenging and that I felt that i was capable of doing much more than this. He then told me that he will not allow me to get another job as I am a big help to him. I went on 4months maternity leave and now that I'm back its like I'm non-existent, nobody did my work when I was off and I have since caught up with the work and now I sit and do nothing. I approached him again and he makes as if its a joke. It seems that I'm only wasting time at work and its depressing me as I need a challenge. I have approached HR and explained the situation and still nothing has been done. What other approach can I take as I have tried all avenues. I now feel like the only thing to do is resign although I cant afford it but I really cant cope with this anymore. I know I should be grateful that I have a job but whats the use if I'm unhappy.
