Don't understand
Ok so I'm not superstisious at all, but something is bugging me...

My son is six, and suddenly started with nightmares, and he is extremely afraid to be in the the house.....

He's whole body trembles and he get's all sweaty and hysterical if we are at home, could it be that something has happened at school, or is there something physical in the house that could be bothering him???

There's is no bed wetting, just the nightmares and the extreme fear in his eyes, he wakes up screaming!!!!

We have tried everything, from his favourite toy, too taking him into bed with Dad and me and still no improvement, we've removed everything from his room that could be scary in the dark, but still he is adment in not being home, and he doesn't want us to stay at home either....

I don't know how to handle this, seeing that he is a litte daredevil and has never feared anything, even spiders and snakes has been no problem for him, the move to his own room didn't even affect him...

He has been like this for the last two weeks and I can't find any explanation for his sudden fear....

Can you please try and enlighten me on what could be the problem and how I can help him...

Hi shadow,
I don't think there is anything in the house bothering him, and nightmares / night terrors can arise at many different ages. Possibly something has happened at school, or in the neighbourhood --- or he may have been frightened by a movie he saw. But the best move would be to take him to see a good local child psychiatrsit / child psychologist for a full assessment, so we know what we're dealing with here. What explanation does he have for his fears ? What does he say he fears might happen in the house ?
