Expatriate Syndrome
I moved overseas almost a year ago and would like to learn more about the so-called "expat syndrome". Does anyone have information on the subject or perhaps some tips to recognise and overcome it.

Dear expat,
let's see what our regular readers, including a few expats, have to say on this one. There is, of course, no regular "expat Syndrome" formally recognized or described. Some studies of migrants suggest a higher incidence of general psych problems, but whether that's an effect of having migrated, or a cause, isn't clear !
The more one travelled with unrealistic expectations, the more one is likely to be disappointed, and of course one is genrally faced with whatever problems arise, without one's usual support system one was used to relying on at homee.
