Fibromyalgia :(
Hi there!I havent written here in along time and I would like to know what happened to Cybershrink and I hope you are well now and you are in my thoughts :)

I know maybe this is not the right forum BUT I was 'diagnosed " a few years ago ( very quickly) with Fibromyalgia.

Now over the years I have gone to many doctors and tried all these many products and advice from others etc and to no avail!

Im on a stage now where I feel worse and worse as each day goes by and I have tried to so hard to get support from people but nothing!I have 2 kids and no family and no close friends and it is so hard as the more I xplain to people the more they think Im mad or a hypocondriac!

I have thought of my future and it looks bleak as I cant afford to have more tests and stuff as I have wasted so much over the years .Im just concerned that it is not Fibromyalgia and something else?

Any suggestions welcome :)

Im just tired of feeling tired and achy and cant do all the things I used to in past - I cant even get a job!The result is I feel lonely to and have nobody to chat to even though schools ; actvities and volunteer work until recently stopped - I have still not made close friends over the years!( Im feeling depressed)

Anybody want a cyberpal or any advice on what to try next for my Fibromyalgia?

Thanx in advance!

Hi Gail,
I guess others will tell you some of the sad saga of Cybershrink, and how I had my left upper arm bone shattered as a passenger in a car accident, now surviving two operations and still enduring a painful arm which can't bear weight and can't straighten out.
Fibromyalgia is a very real entity in terms of being something that causes nuisance and pain to many people, without being a very clearly defined condition attracting much good scientific research seeking a solution to the problem. These aches and pains, rather like my own, seem to tend to be more unpleasant in the cold weather ( Lord knows why ).
The one reassuring thing about Fibromyalgia, is that however unpleasant it may be, it doesn't kill us, and tends to stay static for years. And if it were "something else" ( always an intelligent thought ) then pretty well anything else is likely to have either cleared up completely, or would hav become much worse and much more obviously something else, before now. Time can be a useful diagnostic test !
I'm sure that, after the weekend lull, you should get some helpful responses from out regulars and irregulars. Cyberfriendships may be practical and helpful.
