Dear CS

I took your advice and went to see a 'shrink' about my aviaphobia. Since I've been short on time I only went for 5 sessions over 2 weeks, also I realy can't find alot of time to practice at home what with a baby to look after and running around like a headless chicken. I do not feel totally ready but I'm trying my best, also hoping for the best, still a bit anxious as time gets nearer, she said she will prescribe me some meds too which I'm getting tomorrow.

I really hope I am much more prepared like she says I am!!! I'm flying this Friday morning, if I can just master the takeoff, I think the rest should fall into place, will be experiencing 4 takeoffs in 2 days, so please wish me luck, I'll let you know if CBT works or not when I get back!:)

Hi topaz, pleased to hear you took my advice and have begun to make progress. Practice, especially on relaxing and being relaxed while imagining the flight, is important --- grab moments in between your other busy duties. Actually, this will be an excellent opportunity for you --- after the 4 takeoffs ( and, presumably, 4 landings ! ) --- you'll become a relaxed and experienced flyer. Let us know, after your return, how well things went.
