Regarding the website please note that this site is NOT 'irresponsible' nor is it 'ignorant' nor is it an 'unreliable resource' and individuals should NOT be discouraged to visit this site as this would be a disservice to mankind. It is in fact the International Coalition for Drug Awareness and furthermore it is run by a panel of qualified physicians, researchers, journalists and concerned citizens dedicated to educating others about the dangers posed by many medicines. Please therefore feel free to browse the site and decide for yourself if the information contained therein is of a false or factual nature. I am not advertising or promoting but merely wishing to educate. "The best prescription is knowledge" !

Dear Cleo, I disagree. I examined the "drugawareness" site, and find it odd, inexpert and unhelpful ; it reads very like a Scientology Front or some similar group wishing to discourage people from accepting lifesaving orthodox treatments, so as to push an alternative, less well researched, remedy. I was not at all impressed by its "panel of qualified physicians". Most seemed to have limited specialized qualifications, or the wrong ones. They were not generally people widely acknowledged by their peers ( other doctors and shrinks ) as distinguished in the field of mental health.
The name of the International Coalition is irrelevant --- you and I could tomorrow set up an International Coalition for Knitting Awareness, even though I am totally unable to knit. It would gain status by recognition by other major professional groups, which it does not seem to have.
And it is extremely, devotedly, biased. It absolutely definitievly does NOT promote "drug awareness" --- it promotes one very narrow and specific variety of "awareness", not based on either qualified specialist clinical experience nor on recognized scientific research, but on speficic prejudices against specific types of drugs. Of the majority of drugs in use it promotes no awareness whatsoever, ignoring the majority of drugs in use. I do not notice it keeping to the generally agreed standards for a good health information site, the way that Health24 does.
I agree that education and knowledge is valuable --- but that requires unbiased information and a rage of opinions, ot harping on one specific point of view. I have examind the site and find it nearly worthless --- that's my expert opinion, and I approached it hoping to discover a broadly informed and useful site worth recommending. Obviously, it has greatly impressed you --- for your own further benefit I would recommend that you continue searching, and look for other opinions, including those opposite to those of the Coalition, and look for good evidence on the issues, so you could better weight and compare the points of view.
Meanwhile, while I appreciate readers drawing our forum's attention to various possibly useful resources they have discovered, I do not appreciate your repeatd touting of that one specifc site, as if it were the be-all and end-all of human knowledge on the subject. And also, while I'm happy for you to express your personal opinions on this site, and to add your comments, based on your personal experience, to the responses to different qustions posted here, I do not like your practice of saying little or nothing within the forum about the issues being discussed, but simply recommending that one site, and then trying to persuade our readers to contact you off-line for personal discussions. You make yourself sound more like a misionary, a fanatic, or an exploiter, when you approach it that way. let's hear your own opnions, where they might be helpful, rather than second-hand smoke.
