Husbands useless salary
My husband has always earned a very meagre salary. Unfortunately he doesn't have a very high education so i have always just accepted that he will never be able to earn good. Now after years of constant struggling I have had enough. I just cannot copy anymore with the constant worrying about paying the rent and electricity, the car, etc. What has got my back up is that he has never made an effort to earn a better salary in order to make things easier for me. When we need food he phones his sister and they have on occassion bought us groceries. How many of you woman out there will live with a man whose salary cannot pay the rent and electricity? I would like to know because I have been under constant stress for so many years that now i feel i cannot cope anymore. I am falling apart and dont know what direction to go in anymore. I have had enough!!

How carefully and tactfully have you discussed all this with him ? Is it possible for him to study more, or in other ways to explore getting a better job ? Could he consider taking on an extra, part-time job, to add to the family income ? You don't mention whether you work, to contribute to the family budget. I feel sorry for your husband, who probably fels awful about this ; and maybe the two of you could, with a financial / bank advizsor, examine you budget-- with a combined income of R 8,200 pm, I would have thought most couples could manage to come out. And as so many others have emphasized, a good, decent,. and loving man is worth a fortune ; you could easily end up much worse off, whatever the new monthly budget might be
