I suspect i have manic depression.
Dear Cybershrink

Over the last three months i've been having a lot of trouble with stress and depression, punctuated by times that i become overly euphoric and even reckless at times, feeling invincible and untouchable, just to be thrown back into a deep state of depression. I am failing most of my subjects this semester because of my so called "attitude".

Could you perhaps give me the name of a qualified psychiatrist i could come into contact with in the Potchefstroom Area?

We're not able to recommend specific shrinks on this site, for many good reasons ( including the impossibility of keeping track of who practices where, and whether they are worthy of specific recommendation. Psychiatrists in your area ought to be listed in your local phone book, and your GP also could recommend someone he has seen produce good results. it's possible that you might have a bipolar disorder ( formerly called manic Depressive illness ) or there could be other explanations for the troubles you have experienced, needing different treatment and management. See a good local psychiatrist for a full evaluation, and then you can discuss treatment.
