I'm the sanest nut my acquaintances and friends know
So very nice guy (professional acquaintance) calls. I see his number on my phone and get half excited 'cause I've got the teeniest crush on him - and he's almost asked me out before. I answer and after greeting - there is this short silence. Then he asks me - since he knows I've been there - where would be the best place to take a friend with problems like mine. And whether they take people who've tried to commit suicide as well (um - yes?!?). Well, at least I now know that I'm on his phone-a-friend list, just like he is on mine.

Sigh - I think I'm ready to have a boyfriend again. But how do I let guys know that I'm available? I've been 'just friends' with so many guys for so long, I just don't know how to flirt anymore. I'm always 'one-of-the-guys'. What do I do?

Poor Liza ! Nice to be wanted, but it's best to be wanted for whatever it is that you actually want to be wanted for !
Now we understand the significance of that tiny pause ! Certainly it could be a good idea, as Lara sugests, to make some clear changes in your appearance, which rather suggest you could be making a new start, and might encourage people to rethink their assumptions about you. NOT aiming a looking overwhelmingly sexy, just diferent, stylistically.
