Is it worth waiting for at my age?
AFter being divorced for 17 years and only one child in his 20's still at home till next year, I have now been seeing a guy for a few years but am so used to living on my own, solving my own battles, supporting myself and family. I'm enjoying "dating" but sometimes the thought of marrying a man who is close to sixty and I'm mid fifties, makes me wonder if it would work - or is it just for companionship which I get now anyway! We are very attracted to each other, get on well, laugh, love - quite compatable. It seems he is in no hurry to "merge"(marry) so to say but does speak about doing things together in years to come. He is one in a million as far as manners, consideration etc. and don't really want to lose him but have a fear of rejection as well. I'm not the sort of person to live with anyone. Why we women always want something more I don't know but I swing one way and then the other.
How can I just enjoy what is without expecting more??

Dear Denny,
Sounds like you two need to get into rather deeper conversation about what you both want and expect from this relationship From the sound of it you could be well compatible, and may both want a long-term friendship rather than marriage as such. There's surely no need to feel you have to rush into a marriage if the current and continuing relationship satisfies both of you. Maybe, after your son leaves home next year, your views and wants might change ; maybe not.
