Letting go
How does one go about leaving friends that are not good for him? I have a few great friends that really care about me but their lifestyles are rather negative and I am being dragged into it all and I feel guilty and have decided I would rather stop this nonsense before it becomes a problem. ow I need to walk away from these ppl but how? I think I will just start declining invitations to go out and gradually fade out.

YIf they are genuinely friends and care about your welfare, they ought to understand if you simply sit down calmly and talk about this concern, that their lifestyles are getting you involved in things you'd rather steer clear of, so you plan to stop seeing them and to make new friends, and you wish them a long and happy life. An alternative, is, as you suggest, to just keep on declining invitations, to keep on being unavailable, untol they stop bothering to invite you
