Married
Hi Doc
I've made up my mind, I want get divorced from my husband. Could it be that I chose the wrong partner. It seems that he doesn't love me anymore. Last night he put me through hell again after he got drunk. He keeps on pushing me around, hurting me but still denies hitting me because his fist wasn't close, surely this must still be abuse?
And the verbal abuse still keeps getting worse.
Can't I just tell him that I want a divorce without him changing all the locks and throughing me out of the house again. This is the only reason that I'm still with him, OUR house and car that he uses to manipilate me.
My salary goes for food and entertainement every month, but still he is accusing me of not helping with anything. I'm tired of being so teribly sad al the time, I need some advise on how to get out.

Cleo -- if it hurts, or is demeaning, it's abuse. The posture of the fist is irrelevant. And the fact aht anyoen tries to make a distinction on such a ridiculous basis, isn't promising. Call POWA for advice on the safest way to explore divorce and protect your interests and yourself. This sort of guy can get very nasty when faced with divorce.
You need legal advice about interdicts, but the cocky little twerp is not entitled to tear up an interdict --- if he breaks its instructions in any way at all, he can go to jail for doing so, and that might just wake him up to the real worl where nobody made him Emperor.
If, as Star sugests he might6 possibly agree to sincerely take part in marriage counselling, that might help, but unless his heart is in it and he truly wants to change, it won't work.
