Mom diagnosed with Brain Tuma
Hi,
My mom was diagnosed with a brain tuma 10 years ago. Since then she has suffered with headaches. She only came out and told us about it a year and a half ago. Since then she's been for Scans and she's been put on medication. The problem is that she's not open about her check-ups and if she takes her medication. For the past year she's become extremely aggressive and short tempered. She also spends excessively and become very irresponsible in that regard. She has cut herself off completely from friends and family.
Please any advise will help.

brain tumours, and their treatment, can cause brain damage, which can have the efect of increasing a person's irritability and aggression. It is POSSIBLE, as kat says, also, that she could be deliberately trying to be a bit more unpleasant so that you all won't miss her so much eventually, but this isn't a common reaction. It might be worthwhile to directly contact her doctor about your concerns, including the increased aggression and irresponsible spending, and your concern that she might not be taking her medication properly, as this could be very relevant information for him in assessing and treating her.
