Hi Doc. Please help. My moods are out of control and my b/f recently broke up with me because of this problem. For instance, one minute I will be fine and happy and the next snap at everyone, and be very nasty. However, I cant think what triggered it! I am also very anxious, stressed all the time, to a point where my hair is falling out in handfuls and I can only think that it is because of this anxiety. Should I go to the dr for medication? I read another posting on this site regarding Buspar. Do you think that would help me in my situation?

Well, basically, the best thing would be, as I usually say ( because it IS usually the best thing ) too see a good local shrink for a proper assessment and advice on treatment, based on the results of the assessment. Buspirone might well help, as it is effective in dealing with tension / anxiety / stress, though gentle and a bit slow in onset of action ( which is actually more of an advantage than you might think ) amd mildly antidepressant whereas other tranquillizers can promote depression.
I'm interested in JM's idea of a support group for moody and, in T's words, "terrible people". Except if it were named the Terrible People Support Group, most politiciabns would be expecting to receive large donations from you
