My Boss
My boss and us 3 ladies are always fighting. He never has a single complaint regarding our work.

We have consultants and they are everything to him and we dare not upset them so that they are unable to work that day. Me and the two other ladies in the office are always abused verbally by the consultants as well as the boss who always takes their side. We do (salary-wise) what he instructs and they are then upset with us and the next thing we hear is that we have an attitude.

When they say pay us we say no we have to find out what needs to be deducted as they all owe money on big loans, they have his cars and cell phones etc and there are no permanent arrangement he will change the arrangement and then we will not know and the consultant is cross with us.

Like this morning again when a consultant upset a client and denied that he did put the phone down on the person I asked him what happened and he told me to get (something rude) then he went to the boss and told him I upset him so that he cannot see clients today. I was threatened that he's so sick of this whole business he wishes he could close his doors maybe he will. I said do it we are all 3 looking for other jobs in anycase. He said good and we did not talk further.

What do I do? Finding another job is easier said than done. I have been on pnet for over 6 months and I am a PA.

I'm sure others with far more experience of office politics will respond to this query soon. Surely it's fair and seisible to ask the boss to make all decisions about payments and perks for the "consultants" in writing, so you can be sure of exactly what to do, and so you can stick to exactly whatever he has specified. Sounds suspiciously to me as if there's some largescale fiddle going on, and I wonder how much of the payment and perks the "consultants" have declared to the tax man ? and if theconsultants are such pathetic little divas that they have to storm off and sulk and neglect their work all day if upset, then they can't be worth much.
I'm sure in time you hree witll find a good job with decent people who know how to value honest and conscientious workers.
