CS- do you know if there is any evidence of mental disorders in people with a family history of neurofibromitosis / von reckinhaussens?
I know of von Recklinhausen's / Neurofibromatosis. It's basically a neurological disorder in which there can be swellings associated with nerves, and which may show itself in a variety of ways. I'm not aware of any specific association with any specific form of mebntal illness. I understand that in some severe forms there might be associated mental retardation, or learning disorders. And of course Secondarily ( that is, not a part of the primary disorder itself, but potentially caused by it ) there can be emotional problems caused by havign some forms of deformity and dealing with the consequences of the primary disorder.
