I'm often troubled by the daft and vast topics some teachers set for projects / essays. Any good psychology textbook should outline the various popular theiries of development ( be wary --- just because someone can divide a complicated process into separate bits, doesn't necessarily mean that they are "stages" -- to me, a valid model with Stages are situations where you cannot get to stage 3 except by completing stage 2 ( rather like the levels of a video-game ) ; and where it can be shown that all humans actually do show signs of working their way through such stages. Anyhow, list the names of the models you find reasonably convincing, and you can then Google them and see what sites discuss them.
Now if the true focus of the project is the issue of how medical personnel deal with diffrent human behaviours, I don't see where the stages come in, as no medical staff generally assess someone's "stage" of development before deciding how to respond ( even with kids where this could be the most relevant ) ; "stages" are not shown, by any research I'm aware of, to be valid predictors or determinants of what medical personnel do.
