Sex Drive = IQ ?
Dear CS, we had a very interesting dinner debate last night and I would really like to hear your take on this. An opinion was raised that people with low IQ, have high sex drive and examples were used of schools for mentally retarded children (girls) having hysterectomies in order to avoid pregnancy etc (I know this is true). In my own experience, I know two people (not so bright) one male one female, who have extremely high sex drives. I would like to know if there's any truth in this?

I don't think there's any evidence of any relationship between sex drive / libido and IQ --- but IQ could influence one's behaviour, at whatever level of libido --- one's judgement, wisdom, sense of self control, one's ability to think through to the likely consequences, and thus to take them into account and to modify and constrian our behaviour, even if we felt in the mood for sexual activity.
And more intelligent people are more able to enjoy sex in ways beyond the mere physical --- more interested in fantasy, etc, which the unintelligent might not manage. And, as said, the more intelligent people would be more able to be discrete, even if they DID act on their libido, and be much less likely to let others know what they were doing, than the less intelligent person who would be less able to hide it. Ande, as discussed, there is the moral issue, that it takes a certain level of intelligence to understand moral issues ( whicb is more than learning the rules you are told to obey ).
