That winning feeling!
What is the emotional aspect of that 'winning feeling' - why do we like to win? What makes us go back and try again? Do endorphins have anything to do with it?

Endorphins often have something to do with feeling good in various circumstances. But I don't think they're at all specific about those circumstances. Presumably winning pleases us by boosting our self-esteem and confirming some of the good things we hope are true about us. We vary in personality though --- some give up when they fail, and don't bother to try again, so they have no further chance of succeeding. Some have such a low opinion of themselves that they give up even before they try, already convinced that they cannot possibly succeed. And others persist through many failures, and ultimately succeed
