to kristen love and marriage
Kristen i have been married for 22 years (from the age of 18) and am now 40. we have 4 kids. we have battled financially and have had our ups and downs but it is all worth it. I think the problem today is a lot of people cannot see it through. I do not mean in abusive relationships but just in general. The new way is to opt out rather than try. I think this happens not only with marriage but in so many other spheres of life. When i was young we were taught to see things through, stick it out, work at it and i have applied that principle to my marriage. I love my husband a lot but there are days where we are not in harmony.
marriage is wonderful but you will have to work hard at it.
in the beginning it is romance and easy to love but then the real work begins to keep this romance alive.
I read a lot on marriage, family, child rearing etc - NOT in magazines but books by experts such as Dr James dobson.
this also helps. dont worry about other bad examples. it does not mean marriage is bad. it would be good to do a course before you marry though. we did a course through the church and it is good to analyse certain things e.g children - do you both want, finances - who will be in control, religion - do you agree on this, career - will you work or stay at home, family - how important will the in laws be in your life etc etc discuss these topics in depth and see if you are both on the same page and discuss how you will handle these things in your life. Good luck and I am sure you will make a success of it
